Become a Reviewer for the CIES 2010 Annual Conference Now!

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, the Comparative International Education Society (CIES) is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes to contribute to the understanding of education through encouragement and promotion of comparative education and related areas of inquiry and activity.

The CIES Constitution states that, the Society shall:

  • Promote teaching and research in comparative and international education in institutions of higher learning in both national and international contexts;
  • Foster application of comparative theories and research in applied settings;
  • Facilitate publication and disseminator of comparative, cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and international studies contributing to interpretation of developments in the field of education in their broad and interrelated political, economic, and social context;
  • Encourage educational and cultural exchanges; and
  • Promote and foster understanding of how educational policies and programs can improve social and economic development.

You will help CIES achieve these goals not only by becoming a member and joining us at the annual conference, but also by becoming a reviewer for CIES 2010.  By becoming a reviewer you will read what your colleagues believe it is important in comparative and international education and you will also help provide feedback and improve the quality of the presentations at CIES.  Help us in the goal to make this peer reviewed conference a success.  You will be assigned between 10-15 proposals to review.  As this is a very important service to the society and to the field more broadly, we will accordingly recognize your contribution in the conference program.

We want to thank all of you who have already signed up to volunteer as reviewers.  Due to the large number of submissions, we need more reviewers!  We hope that we can count on your support. Go to our website (http://www.cies2010.msu.edu/) look for the volunteer link, log in to the system and register as a reviewer.
